The History of Dodge Caravan

Dodge CaravanIn 1983 a model that was the beginning of a new popular class made its debut. Chrysler Voyager, Plymouth Voyager, and Dodge Caravan were the names of the automobiles that were the same in terms of their construction.

Power plant range included 150-horsepower 2.5-liter injector-type turbo-charged engine and 141-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine.

In 1987 the model was slightly restyled.

The restyling of 1990 was rather considerable. The chassis, the body, and the dimensions were changed. The engine range was extended with 164-horsepower 3.3-liter V6 engine.

In 1991 an all-wheel drive version AWD was introduced.

In 1992 118-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo-charged diesel engine entered the motor range.

In 1995 second generation of Dodge Caravan was introduced.

There was a top version added to the existing modifications. It was provided with 3.8-liter gasoline powered engine and all-wheel drive.

In 2001 third generation made its debut.

The power plant range included 152-horsepower 2.4-liter and 160-horsepower 3.3-liter gasoline powered engines as well as 2.5-liter and 2.8-liter turbo-charged diesel engines.

In 2004 the model was restyled.

It was Dodge Caravan interior that was most of all restyled.

The power plant range includes 155-horsepower 2.4-liter motor, 180-horsepower 3.3-liter engine, and 3.8-liter one that puts out 215 hp.
